At Ladies Who Launch, we celebrate Entrepreneurs all day, every day! Originating from the French word for “undertake,” entrepreneurs are defined as people that “create a new business, bearing most of the risks and enjoying most of the rewards.” Entrepreneurs are courageous, dedicated, and passionate individuals who have built something from nothing. Their innovation boosts the economy, improves our quality of life, and inspires a brighter future.

To celebrate #NationalEntrepreneursDay, we are thrilled to share a group of innovative entrepreneurs that never cease to amaze us - the LWL 2021 Launch Program cohort! Learn more about these changemakers and support their businesses by shopping, following, and sharing with your friends, families, and networks. Together, we can redirect our resources to support women & non-binary-owned businesses!

Don’t forget to show us your Launch Program purchases, give us a shout @LWLGlobal, use the hashtags #LadiesWhoLaunch and #NationalEntrepreneursDay, so we can celebrate with you!

Bombchel

@shopbombchel

Bombchel was launched through Kickstarter as a way to employ more Liberian women after the Ebola crisis. Bombchel's catalog of apparel and accessories, in body-positive cuts and cloth, continues to show the world that African fashion can be for everyone. The Bombchel mission statement is simply "Create the things you wish existed." The team embodies this as they sew clothing and build a safe space for African women to earn money to care for their families.

Copper River Fish Market

@copperriverfishmarket

Copper River Fish Market (CRFM) was founded by Sarah Ecolano and provides home cooks and professional chefs across the nation with the highest-quality, responsibly harvested Wild Caught Alaska Seafood. Sarah noticed many falsehoods in markets and menus, such as lower-quality fish being sold as premium cuts at premium prices. She recognized how this harmed the buyers and the small-boat fisherpeople working to ensure a sustainable product. Sarah knew she could help bridge the gap between boat and plate by founding CRFM, taking out the middle man by responsibly managing every part of the process.

ELAVI

@heyelavi

ELAVI co-founders Michelle and Nikki met while teaching fitness classes at the same gym and bonded over 14-hour days where they had few options of truly healthy fuel for their bodies. They couldn't find a product formulated with clean ingredients while also providing functional benefits for recovery (Michelle is sensitive to additives, and Nikki is also an endurance athlete who needed both energy + quality protein). Frustrated by the lack of options, they created the solution themselves - a multi-collagen protein snack, ELAVI.

Kahmune

@kahmune

Kahmune is a luxury brand offering an array of footwear styles and accessories designed to match the skin tones of ALL women. In 2016, Jamela became fed up with the white-washed definition of "nude" products, meaning tan or beige. She purchased a pair of white pumps and some paint, mixed a few colors together until she came up with a brown that matched her skin tone, and spent a few hours painting the shoes HER shade of nude. "I'll never forget that first look in the mirror in MY true nude pumps - the pride, the joy, the excitement of finally feeling like I had found a product designed with my complexion mind.", says Jamela. Out of that moment, Kahmune was born.

Kirrin Finch

@kirrinfinch

Kirrin Finch specializes in ethical and conscientious menswear-inspired clothes, crafted to fit well and look sharp on all bodies. Laura Moffat and her wife, Kelly, both self-proclaimed tomboys, were consistently having a hard time finding clothes that they felt good in and that fit their bodies. "We spoke to countless women, transmen, and non-binary folks who felt the same way. So we decided to quit our jobs (Laura was a pharmaceutical marketing consultant and Kelly was a teacher) and start a clothing company that aimed to fill the gap for gender-defying fashion by creating menswear-inspired apparel designed to fit a range of bodies."

Mama Noy’s Kitchen

@mamanoys

Mama Noy's was created out of the joy of sharing Laotian cuisine with her family and friends. Since 2013, Mama Noy's has been a food truck, catering service, brick-and-mortar restaurant, and regular at favorite Austin, TX farmers markets. Once the pandemic hit, it was clear that a pivot was needed, and Noy knew precisely what to do - Direct to Consumer Mama Noy's Sauces! A fan favorite, her Hot Chili Garlic Oil, is the perfect introduction to the market, all while allowing Noy to continue to share her love of Laotion food by teaching others how to incorporate it into their meals and menus themselves.

Nana Joes Granola

@nanajoesgranola

Michelle Pusateri started Nana Joe's Granola in 2010 with the goal of bringing all-natural, whole-food ingredients back to the grocery store shelves. The road to success has been filled with many highs and the lowest of lows, but Michelle wouldn't have it any other way. She was inspired by the messy, fun, and inspirational time spent in the kitchen with her father growing up - you can find a polaroid of her parents on the back of every bag of Nana Joe's. Michelle knew that it was her life's work to use her culinary talents and love of baking science to help others experience REAL food that creates an undeniable experience and serves her community in San Francisco.

Renzoe Box

@renzoebox

The idea for Renzoe Box started as the solution for a problem founder René Graham and so many others face - having a bag full of bulky and stray palettes, compacts, and cosmetic products. Consequently, she created an all-in-one item that can house various brands, colors, and cosmetic products of your choosing - all refillable! Rooted in sustainability and smart design, Renzoe Box cuts the average consumer's single plastic use by 80% in their beauty routine. Thoughtful product design became an integral part of Renzoe Box once René learned that the beauty industry produces 180 billion units a year of single-plastic waste in a given year.

Superfit Hero

@superfithero

After starting roller derby, Micki Krimmel had the realization she could enjoy movement and sport for the love of it, not to change her body. After falling in love with exercise again, she began noticing the lack of plus-size activewear that existed. While 68% of American women are plus-size, only 8% of activewear caters to them. She was furious about how fitness and wellness were marketed as nothing more than a path toward the unattainable thin white ideal. In 2015, Micki created Superfit Hero, plus-size activewear, to change the narrative of women's fitness and bodies.
