Black Women-Owned Businesses We Love
Black Women-Owned Businesses We Love
According to the Annual State of Women-Owned Businesses, the number of Black women-owned businesses grew 50% from 2014 - 2019, (that’s more than any other demographic!). When small businesses grow, so do their communities and data shows that Black-women business owners intentionally locate themselves in spaces the are predominantly BIPOC - they also mentor folks at higher rates! But, systemic racism and a culture of white supremacy stand in the way of growth and the revenue gap between businesses owned by Black women and their white counterparts is wider than any other.
Through our work at LWL, we actively seek to change these statistics, and in addition to the Launch Program (2021 program coming soon!), the best way for us to support Black women-owned businesses is with our spending power. We’ve rounded up a list of our favorite businesses that we know you’ll love!
Take a read, please share with your networks, and let’s keep the list going. Have a favorite Black women-run business that you’d like to share? Tag LWLGlobal and use the hashtag #LWLGuide so we can spotlight them as well!
