DIY Branding and Design Tips for Women and Non-Binary Entrepreneurs: Entrepreneur Hacks Part 1
Hello Entrepreneurs & Small Biz Owners,
I'm Laticia, or "Tish," and I love getting lost in each project's creative design and build. As we share our entrepreneur "hacks" this month, I want to share my creative hacks in hopes that this inspires you and gives you a bit of a toolset to work with. As a woman or non-binary founder, you are already a creator as you have built your business; these steps may help you hone in on a new idea or help you create something new!
Beyond a cure for boredom, creativity is essential to successful careers and businesses. Studies show that a creative work environment and leadership boosts productivity and the innovation needed to pivot and survive.
Additionally, creativity is healing. I personally experienced a boost in perceived self-efficacy (particularly helpful during a global pandemic). As a result of my newfound confidence and joy living in the creative process, I decided to make a significant career change; I left traditional social work to pursue my dream of becoming a full-time visual & graphic designer. So don't be surprised by the changes you will make once you start welcoming in the creative juices!
Here are some tips & tools that have helped me reconnect with my artistic side, change careers, and cultivate a more creative life:
Progress… Not Perfection
Develop A Daily Routine
Be A Student
Use Smart Tools
Visit A Museum!
Have Fun!
Elizabeth Gilbert says, "A creative life is an amplified life. It's a bigger life, a happier life, an expanded life, and a hell of a lot more interesting life. Living in this manner–continuously and stubbornly bringing for the jewels that are hidden within you–is a fine art, in and of itself."
For one, I have been throwing myself into every creative practice I can find (and afford) and have been reminded of how joyful it is to get lost in the creative process.
